Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws Late Model Series event? Series Announcer Ruben Mireles will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Sooner State Showdown at Arrowhead Speedway, Aug. 22-23

RUBEN’S FIVE:

Nick Hoffman
Why: Hoffman’s first visit was one to remember as he won the Comp Cams Sooner State Showdown Thursday night at Arrowhead Speedway. Twelve of the 14 Outlaws raced along with the Comp Cams roster on Thursday, and Hoffman started seventh to win. Consistency is key, and Hoffman has finished in the top five in four of the last five outings with the series. Hoffman will be one to beat all weekend.

Tim McCreadie
Why: McCreadie charged 13 positions last night to finish fourth. McCreadie had to race his way from the Last Chance Showdown into the Feature, but let’s look at the positive in that. On a non-points night, McCreadie got some valuable track time. He got to see the track develop more than anyone having to run at LCS. That Briggs Transport Team found something, and if they can get a valuable starting position, win number five on the year is more than possible this weekend.

Dennis Erb Jr
Why: We’ve talked about the recent success and consistency for Dennis and Heather, and their Rocket XR2 was fast Thursday night. The last 15 of 18 Features have been top 10s for Dennis along with multiple podiums. The first win of the season is coming “Sooner” than later this season, but the “Sooner State” may be the end to that winless drought!

Bobby Pierce
Why: Pierce looking to win three in a row with the Outlaws and 10th of the season! Pierce finished second last night after starting sixth. He and Hoffman put on a good show up front, and Pierce will be a contender all weekend. Pierce has won 23 Heat Races this season setting himself up nicely in the redraw all season long. The current points leader is hard to not pick and Oklahoma may very well be the 14th state he’s found victory lane with the series!

Drake Troutman
Why: The current MD3 Rookie of the Year point leader started 15th and raced his way to seventh. Troutman has 88 Feature starts in 2025 and is well on track to make over 100. A new track is no problem for Troutman and Drake’s seat time and experience all over the country had prepared him for new tracks. With a good starting spot this weekend Drake could possibly get win number two!

You can follow these drivers and more all weekend by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch every lap live – with Ruben Mireles – on DIRTVision.
