JOHNNY’S FIVE:
David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. The two-time River Cities feature winner looks to take one more step up the podium after a second-place run here in June.
Donny Schatz
Why: The 10-time series champion brings the Lunstra Motorsports car to a “Donny Track.” Twelve wins and 30 top-five finishes in 35 starts at River Cities! Schatz charged from 15th to third here in June.
Carson Macedo
Why: Macedo is a two-time River Cities winner with the World of Outlaws, and would love nothing more than a trip to Victory Lane for the second straight August. Last weekend’s Minnesota sweep is still a fresh memory.
Logan Schuchart
Why: Eight straight top-10 finishes with four top fives is a strong resume for the Shark Racing driver. Schuchart has two River Cities wins to his credit, and took a top five here in June.
Buddy Kofoid
Why: It only took Kofoid four visits to River Cities Speedway to notch his first victory. Kofoid’s sophomore season with The Greatest Show on Dirt continues to impress. Buddy looks to become the first driver NOT named Donny Schatz to complete a River Cities season sweep.
