JOHNNY’S FIVE: Wilmot Raceway

by World of Outlaws

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Larry Hillerud Memorial Badger 40at Wilmot Raceway, July 11-12

JOHNNY’S FIVE:

David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. Gravel has four World of Outlaws wins at Wilmot, including three straight from 2014 to 2017.

Carson Macedo
Why: Macedo is the winner of three of the last four World of Outlaws Wilmot visits. In the one race he DIDN’T win, he finished second.

Bill Balog
Why: The North Pole Nightmare is the Wilmot track record holder and has 23 career wins at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds.  Though his best World of Outlaws finish here is seventh (twice), Balog rides recent success into a track that’s been VERY good to him in the past.

Hunter Schuerenberg
Why: Though his only World of Outlaws start at Wilmot resulted in a 24th-place finish, Hunter has been on the podium at Wilmot in 50% of his six career starts here, including a runner-up finish with the IRA in 2020.

Chris Windom
Why: Like his fellow Kevin Gobrecht award contender Schuerenberg, Windom has looked good in limited Wilmot starts, with two second-place finishes (IRA in 2021, All-Stars in 2023) in three appearances.

You can follow these drivers and more this week at Wilmot Raceway by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
