JOHNNY’S FIVE: Cedar Lake Speedway

by World of Outlaws

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Independence Spectacularat Cedar Lake Speedway, June 27-28

JOHNNY’S FIVE:

David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. Gravel finally broke through for a Cedar Lake win two years ago after SEVEN second-place finishes!

Buddy Kofoid
Why: Is there such a thing as “money momentum?”  If so, Kofoid has it working! Two wins worth $350,000 carry the 2024 Kevin Gobrecht Award winner into his third Cedar Lake start, where he looks to continue his winning ways.

Donny Schatz
Why: If 10-time is going to break out of his season-long victory drought, Cedar Lake could be the place. He has 10 career wins at a track that saw him race often back in his WISSOTA championship winning days, with 25 top five finishes in 45 career starts.

Logan Schuchart
Why: The World of Outlaws only got to race once at Cedar Lake in 2024, and it was Schuchart scoring his only Series win of 2024. The Shark Racing pilot also picked up a victory here in 2016.

Bill Balog
Why: Another driver looking to ride High Bank Nationals momentum returns to the site of seven IRA wins and 23 top five finishes. His career best World of Outlaws finish here came nine years ago, but look for the “North Pole Nightmare” to up his game this weekend.

You can follow these drivers and more this week at Huset’s Speedway by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
