World of Outlaws

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws Late Model Series event? Series Announcer Ruben Mireles will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Battle at the Border at Sharon Speedway, July 11-12

RUBEN’S FIVE:

Ryan Gustin
Why: With 23 races in the books so far in the 2025 season, Gustin has racked up two wins in the first half of the season, but he’s had a better average finish in the second half so far! Gustin averaged a 9.18 in his first 11 finishes, and in his last 12 finishes, he’s averaged a 5.3 Feature finish, only finishing outside of the top 10 once. Gustin mentioned he felt stagnant in Feature action, and it’s safe to say that they’ve figured it out. He’s coming off a pair of second-place finishes at the Deer Creek Speedway, and coming into Sharon as one of the only three drivers to be a repeat winner at Sharon.

Nick Hoffman
Why: The Tye Towarg team celebrated five World of Outlaws Feature victories a season ago, and they enter the weekend with four Series wins already in 2025. Hoffman isn’t done winning, and Sharon has produced 14 different winners in 16 races contested. Hoffman hasn’t won at Sharon but does have a pair of top fives in his five starts and has only finished outside of the top 10 once. Hoffman’s five starts average out to a 7.6 Feature finish. Hoffman has won three of the last five Features with the Outlaws and is red hot. Hoffman could match his season-best record with five wins in a season this weekend.

Bobby Pierce
Why: Debuting a brand-new Longhorn this weekend and winning both features at Sharon last year, Bobby Pierce is looking to rebound after a bad wreck at Deer Creek. Pierce’s top-10 streak of 18 in a row has come to an end and his championship point lead has been cut down to 50 points. When you light a fire under the 32, he comes back more dominate than ever. His last five starts at Sharon with the Outlaws averages to a 2.6 Feature finish, winning the last two a year ago. Wins seven and right on the year could become a reality this weekend.

Tim McCreadie
Why: McCreadie has three wins on the season and has no signs of slowing down. McCreadie suffered damage in the big wreck at Deer Creek Friday, but the crew pieced it back together at 5 a.m. that night. After the rain out, they’ve had a whole week to go through and find any other major damage. With the Pennsylvania state line only less than two miles away, it’s another home race for the Briggs Transport Team. McCreadie hasn’t raced at Sharon with the Outlaws in quite some time, but he is one of the four past winners competing this weekend, having won with the Series in 2005.

Tanner English
Why: One thing that continues to amaze me is how Tanner can adapt to change, and he doesn’t get enough credit for it. When I compile my notes and stats on Tanner, it amazes me how well he’s really done considering he’s had a lot of moving parts and pieces around him driving for multiple teams in recent years. What I mean is, he’s finally found a good home at Coltman Farms Racing. In his second year with the team, he finally has a book of notes to lean on, and he hasn’t had that in a long time. Let’s not forget he raced for Viper in 2023, Riggs in 2022, etc… Before finding a good home at Coltman in 2024. Tanner has faced chassis changes, engine changes, crew changes, and he still manages to finish well. Still, to this date, he is the highest Rookie of the Year to finish the highest in championship points (second in 2022). Tanner is coming off a pair of fourth-place finishes at Deer Creek. Coltman has provided him with new equipment and him, and his Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame father, Terry, are starting to figure this Longhorn out. It’s been since 2022 that Tanner won his last World of Outlaws Feature, but I have a feeling this season may be the year the drought is over!

You can follow these drivers and more all weekend by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
