Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws Late Model Series event? Series Announcer Ruben Mireles will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.
This week: World of Outlaws St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park on June 20-21
RUBEN’S FIVE:
Nick Hoffman
Why: Defending the old stomping grounds – Hoffman has finished inside the top 10 14 out of the 16 races this season. Not to mention, he’s coming off an impressive podium at the Dirt Late Model Dream. Hoffman has found victory here with the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals and has a lot of experience around I-55. Hoffman racked up four wins with the series a year ago and won the Dairyland Showdown in dominant form. This team is one to beat and only trails Pierce by 88 points for the championship points lead.
Drake Troutman
Why: With two wins already to kick off the 2025 DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Troutman has his Team 22, Inc. No. 22* machine running well. Troutman also won $100,000 just a couple weeks ago at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. Troutman has five top-five finishes this season and came close to his first career World of Outlaws victory back at the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals. Troutman continues to impress as the MD3 Rookie of the Year point leader, sitting fourth in the Series standings overall.
Dennis Erb Jr.
Why: The 2022 World of Outlaws champion swept the last two World of Outlaws races at I-55 in 2022. Dennis and two-time World of Outlaws Crew Chief of the Year Heather Lyne have been working tirelessly getting their car back up to speed, and the results are starting to show. Erb has finished in the top five, five of the last six starts with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals. Not to mention, Dennis is also coming off back-to-back top 10s in Outlaws competition. Dennis also has the most wins under Outlaws competition at I-55. While Sheppard and Richards have won here twice, Erb has won 3 times.
Tim McCreadie
Why: Winner of the last two of three Features with the World of Outlaws, “T-Mac: also had a solid fourth-place finish at the Dream and three straight top 10s overall in his three nights of competition at Eldora. Don’t look now, but McCreadie is up to fifth in the point standings. McCreadie hasn’t raced since Eldora and this team is motivated more than ever before with confidence and momentum on their side.
Bobby Pierce
Why: Coming off a solid runner-up at the Dream, Pierce has elected to regroup and rest ahead of this busy month ahead with the Outlaws, making zero appearances with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals this year. Although Pierce hasn’t won at Pevely with the World of Outlaws, he did win the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Feature here in 2021. Pierce is red hot with four Feature wins, 11 top fives, and 14 top 10s this season. He knows every dirt road leads to Charlotte and with how good every driver in the top five in standings are right now, it’s anyone’s championship with the schedule really about to pick up!
You can follow these drivers and more all weekend by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch every lap live – with Ruben Mireles – on DIRTVision.
